Our membership is open to anyone who would like to sing with about 80 other like-minded souls. Previous choral experience is welcomed, of course, but several of our
members joined as novices. All find choral singing an enjoyable and satisfying way of spending a Wednesday evening.
There are no auditions and prospective members are welcome to sing with us for six weeks as a 'taster' before paying the membership fee.
We aim to achieve high standards of performance and our Musical Director works us hard in rehearsals, but his idiosyncratic sense of humour means we have fun as well.
Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, in St Cuthbert's Church Hall, just off the Market Square in the Darlington town centre.
Concerts are held twice a year, normally in November and April, and in most years we also do a 'summer sing'. We also occasionally perform concerts 'on request' for other organisations, to celebrate special events, etc.
Some comments from choir members:
- The most enjoyable sing I can remember and I have had very enthusiastic feedback from friends.
- Just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed our rehearsals for this concert.
- My friends in the audience were genuinely thrilled.
